Project purpose

Social integration of immigrants into society through legal support, assimilation into a new culture, acquiring employment skills, and starting businesses.

Ignoring a policy of immigrant integration results in low tolerance level in society, isolation of immigrant populations, escalation of conflicts, and in the end, the increase of social tension.

The benefits of Waymakers Immigrant Services Program is to support, educate and train immigrants with vital information and skills. This will help these new populations to be more readily accepted and welcomed into their new communities.

Reasons for
migration

Most people migrate from countries with high social risk, lack of social protection and instability. When they face difficulties they migrate due to five main reasons:

– citizenship status;
– documentation;
– legal support;
– language proficiency;
– cultural knowledge;
– professional qualification;
– limited education;
– living conditions;
– lack of financial and other resources.

As a result of these difficulties, immigrants become a risk group. Social benefits will not solve all of known risk factors, such as chronic unemployment and other domestic problems.

These difficulties may result in immigrants becoming dependant on social programs. Again, this may lead to a real lack of hope, quality of life, and sense of belonging in their newfound environment. These conditions are conductive to social ills, such as criminal behavior and chronic assistance dependency.

Waymakers Immigrant Services Programs

Multi-leveled programs are dedicated to three categories of immigrants:

Illegally living
in the country

Hiding from justice in their home countries – deportation risk group, revealed during registration and acquiring documents.

Program
description

Course of programs requires for immigrants to stay in educational adaptation centers, with the possibility of residence up to 6 months while completing full course of programs:

- THE PROGRAM

– Counseling service based on
     Christian principles;
– Christian basics;
– Basics of Family;
– Principles of cultural differences
     in the US and home country;
– Financial literacy;
– Computer courses;
– English language learning;
– Basic rights and responsibilities
     under the Law of US;
– Essential history and traditions
     of United States of America;
– Basic job and trade skills;
– Aid with immigration documents;
– Sports recreation complex;
– Help in finding employment through
     public private partnership.

3 months

Create a wholesome family and raise children;
Interact within society with communication skills;
Have the basic knowledge of American history, culture and traditions;
Know the basics of law;
Have instruments and informational base to create a business;
Use computer knowledge on a professional level;
Speak English;
Obtain a working specialty according to the needs and demand of that area: (Barber, carpenter, tailor, cook, gardener, welder, landscape designer, plumber, etc.)

The system, despite the efforts of people who work within such a system,
cannot pay attention to specific features of each immigrant. And, as a result,
the lack of proper attention to the problems of immigrants brings risk
to state structures, unfortunately, subsequently costs the state
millions out of the pocket of taxpayers.
